The Sunshine Gardens philosophy is to promote a loving environment with nice amenities that are essential for quality living, beginning with breakfast! Residents enjoy three nutritious meals per day in our bright, restaurant-style Rose Room dining area. Before or after a nice meal, our Sunshine Room is the social hub for greeting guests, reading the newspaper, enjoying hot chocolate, visiting with friends around a cozy fireplace, or simply watching birds in the impressive aviary. Movie buffs take pleasure in watching the large screen television in our Good Times Theatre. It is the perfect place to enjoy a movie and popcorn or participate in our Rise and Shine exercise program. When residents have family come to visit, the Day Room is set up to accommodate their private party. Smaller groups, private dining, games, television, or meetings are also enjoyed in the Day Room.
Spirituality is important to many of our residence. Our Chapel offers a peaceful place to worship, meditate, or pray. We also provide Sunday worship services and Wednesday Bible study. After a day of worship or to start the week off fresh, Jennifer’s Beauty Salon, located in our Sunshine Gardens facility, is of ultimate convenience. Ladies and gentlemen alike gather at the salon for a refreshing, dignified experience. Whether it be a styling in the salon, enjoying a nice day in our outdoor gazebo, or simply reading a book by the fireplace, Sunshine Gardens is a place with many wonderful living arrangements and options. We work to enrich the daily lives of our senior citizen care residents by providing an environment that stimulates them physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Durango Colorado is a small town rich with history located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. The beautiful surroundings provide more than ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while the vibrant downtown offers more urban activities. Whether it is skiing or boarding at Purgatory, rafting the rapids of the Animas River, riding the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, cruising your bicycle on Durango's many trails, or shopping in the historic downtown, this community offers a wide variety of activities to take part in. After a busy day of enjoying yourself, one can relax in the local hot springs, dance the night away in one of our many taverns or dine in our fine restaurants.

Blue Star Moms of Durango thanks Sunshine Gardens for donating two electronic organs to sell for the support of their annual Gold Star Weekend. The purpose of the Gold Star Weekend is to bring together the families of those members of the military, from the state of Colorado, who have given their lives either in Iraq or Afghanistan. It is a time for these families to share, to grieve, and to heal. It is a time for us to honor them and thank them for their sacrifice.
