MARILYN KARMAZYN
Marilyn Karmazyn is a 17-year veteran in the long-term care industry and has been a part of almost every facet of long-term care. In 1994, Marilyn helped open her first assisted living facility where she worked as a receptionist and later was promoted to Administrative Assistant.
While working as Administrative Assistant for Sunshine Gardens, Ocala, Florida, Marilyn was able to utilize her bachelor degree in Marketing and Communication (University of Florida). Working directly with the owners, she developed and implemented sales and marketing goals which really helped lay the ground work for helping to open three more facilities. Today Marilyn is the Operations Director for Sunshine Gardens Senior Communities in Durango, Colorado. Her duties include staff management, budget oversight, and strategic planning. When asked what she loves most about her work she says that, "working on behalf of senior citizens and always striving to be the best we can for them" is good for the soul and very rewarding. "My favorite thing to do is listen to their stories; they have more wisdom to offer than anyone."
When not hopping on airplanes (Marilyn lives in Princeton, NJ) she is at home with her two wonderful daughters, Kathryn (17) and Kristyn (14) along with their three cats: Puff, Paggie, and Kiptyn!
